Lancom Technology achieves Microsoft Security Solution Designation

Written by Lancom Technology, April 2025

With the addition of Microsoft Security Solution Designation to its collection of certifications, Auckland-headquartered Lancom Technology continues building competencies that give customers confidence in the delivery of secure solutions to business challenges. The recognition underscores Lancom’s expertise in delivering security solutions within the Microsoft ecosystem – which faces hundreds of millions of cyberattacks daily.

“This Designation comes on the back of our team’s comprehensive approach to cybersecurity as an MSP and software developer,” says Lancom Technology CEO Priscila Bernardes. “Cybersecurity is the backbone of digital success, and this Designation confirms our ability to deliver secure digital solutions based on the ever-popular Microsoft platform.”

The Microsoft Security Solution Designation is awarded after an assessment of technical proficiency, customer implementations, and expertise in Microsoft’s security portfolio.

As an MSP serving customers across New Zealand, Australia and a recent expansion into the United States, Lancom Technology has demonstrated its expertise in essential disciplines including:

  • Enhanced Identity & Access Security: Implementing Entra ID to enable Zero Trust security and robust identity management.

  • Data & Application Protection: Securing critical assets with Microsoft Purview and Defender solutions to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.

  • Advanced Threat Protection: Using Microsoft Defender XDR for proactive detection and response across endpoints, identities, email, and cloud applications.

  • Optimized Security Operations: Deploying Microsoft Sentinel for intelligent security analytics and rapid incident response.

Ahead of Microsoft’s transition to its new Cloud Partner Program (replacing prior Gold and Silver partner designations in 2022), Lancom Technology was a Silver security partner with the vendor. Bernardes therefore confirms that a sharp focus on cybersecurity within the Microsoft ecosystem has long featured as an integral component of Lancom’s delivery of software, solutions and technologies on Azure and other Microsoft platforms.

“We are, of course, also designated as a Microsoft Solutions Partner for Infrastructure on Azure, and a Microsoft Solutions Partner for Digital & App Innovation, reflecting our strength in software development,” she adds.

Microsoft’s Microsoft Digital Defense Report 2024 notes that there are approximately 600 million cyberattacks daily, doubling from previous years. This includes ransomware, phishing, identity attacks, and nation-state operations. The 2024 report also highlighted a 2.75-fold year-over-year increase in human-operated ransomware attacks, and a 400% surge in tech scams since 2022, with daily occurrences jumping from 7,000 in 2023 to 100,000 in 2024

Bernardes says successful cybersecurity depends on a combination of people, process and technology and stresses the necessity for collaboration. “With the emergence of artificial intelligence which is being used by attackers as well as those defending digital assets, it is noteworthy that human intelligence is emerging as the crucial factor,” she observes.

“Security is a culture, and working closely with Microsoft helps stay ahead of emerging threats and regulatory demands with robust security and software development expertise,” Bernardes concludes.
